About The Position

The Tool Room Machinist I is responsible for performing basic Machinist tasks within the tool room. This position is intended for individuals that have limited to some level of machining experience. They will work both independently and in a team environment, collaborating with Engineering, Planners, and Quality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess the ability to perform basic measurements.
  • Learning to read programs.
  • Able to read basic blueprints and use various measuring equipment.
  • Able to work to tolerance of +/- .005”.
  • Possess a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey information to others, both verbally and in written form.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic machine operation under general supervision.
  • Inspect parts and move product.
  • Report problems, deviation, or quality concerns to senior level Machinist or Supervisor.
  • Change tooling on specified machines.
  • Transact parts accordingly.
  • Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
  • Participate in 5s workplace organization activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
  • Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
