The Tool & Die Maker is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of all tools and fixtures. This role requires the ability to use various hand measurement tools and to assist technical services with machine repair, change over, set up, and operation as needed. The individual must be capable of safely operating all tool room equipment, including Bridgeport mills, lathes, and surface grinders. Key duties also involve assembling and disassembling tooling, dies, and gauges, troubleshooting and resolving tooling problems, and working with diverse materials such as tool steels, plastics, aluminum, and copper. A strong ability to read and interpret tooling drawings is essential. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with journeyman certification or equivalent experience preferred. It is intended for senior-level or highly experienced candidates, and entry-level applicants will not be considered.
