HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT: Design and develop new industrial tools and equipment that will support Continuous Flow Manufacturing, worker safety, and product quality. THE DETAILS: Work closely with Product Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering and the Production departments to plan new tool designs and equipment Provide Tooling personnel with detailed drawings and sketches that accurately depict designs, dimensions, and operations to be performed Works extensively with Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to develop tooling and equipment that accomplishes product design and manufacturing requirements Coordinate with Production Supervisors for producing tooling components manufactured in the plant Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Supervisors to implement new tooling and for adjustments/enhancements of existing tooling

Requirements

  • Completion of a two-year college or technical degree in manufacturing or tool design is preferred
  • Three years' experience in Tool Design, designing jigs, weld, machining fixtures and assembly tools, as well as drafting and/or CAD experience using 3-D solids modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong math, trigonometry and geometry skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Team player attitude is required
  • Be willing to work overtime as required and work with minimum supervision. This person should also understand the concept of JIT manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product Engineering, Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering and the Production departments to plan new tool designs and equipment

  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Supervisors to implement new tooling and for adjustments/enhancements of existing tooling
