Position Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD/CAM Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in using CAD and DXF files, as well as step-files, to aid in program writing for turret presses, press brakes, and punch presses. This role requires a deep understanding of scalable CAD/CAM application software and the ability to program various equipment using AP-100 and NC Express software.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required. Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent understanding of the nesting process and safety zones.
  • Ability to optimize layouts and select appropriate dies.
  • Knowledge of punch sequences and tooling to prevent scrap.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD and DXF files, as well as step-files, to assist in program writing for turret presses, press brakes, and punch presses.
  • Understand and apply scalable CAD/CAM application software.
  • Use AP-100 Software to program Amada Vipros and Apelio.
  • Use NC Express to program Fin Power shear brilliance equipment.
  • Comprehend and implement the nesting process.
  • Place different products of the same material and plate thickness on a single sheet for one-time processing to achieve material, time, and effort savings.
  • Understand and apply safety zones in programming to avoid damaging the die and clamp during typesetting.
  • Understand the distance between layouts to optimize material usage.
  • Select appropriate dies for programming.
  • Develop punch sequences and tooling to minimize scrap.
