About The Position

The Tool Crib Project Support is responsible for supporting the shop and field crew leaders, and project managers to help make the job successful. This role acts as an expert resource in tool and equipment selection, storage, and maintenance. The candidate will perform various logistical and administrative tasks to ensure a streamlined, safe, and efficient working environment. This position reports to the VP of Operations. Pay Depending On Experience

Requirements

  • Intermediate computer literacy, particularly in inventory management systems and Microsoft 365software.
  • Must have the ability to diffuse stressful situations
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company guidelines for approved driving records.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Mechanical aptitude for recognizing broken tools
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Comfortable working with hands.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess good vision, either naturally or with correction.
  • Capable of climbing and maintaining balance on 6'-8' step ladders.
  • Capable of working on uneven work surfaces.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Responsibilities

  • Tool Crib Coverage: Occupy the tool crib during operational hours, taking orders from crew leaders, project managers, and general superintendents. Orders include but not limited to tools, equipment, consumables, and deliveries.
  • Equipment and Tool Maintenance: Conduct timely check-in and safety check of returned tools. Ensure tools get tested "green tagged" prior to adding back into inventory. Coordinate repairs or replacements of any broken tools found in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Provide exemplary service to crew leaders, maintaining a positive and calm attitude.
  • Communication: Communicate promptly with crew leaders to ensure timely discussion of problems, solutions, deliveries, etc. so they are successful.
  • Logistical Support: Facilitate efficient tools, equipment, and fabrication deliveries that meet the needs of the crew leader. This includes driving items as needed.
  • Procurement: Price and procure new tools for inventory or to support job sites as directed by crew leaders, project managers, and general superintendents within department guidelines.
  • Recordkeeping: Consistently record consumable purchases and tool and equipment assignments by the end of each day. Ensuring accurate information on our consumable sheets and in our programs.
  • Equipment Reconciliation: Compare and discuss discrepancies between weekly billed items and assigned billable tools with crew leaders.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Keep a safe and clean working environment by conducting daily clean-ups, including sweeping floors and putting away tools.
  • Other duties as assigned
