JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Tool Crib Group Leader, the Tool Crib Attendant receives, checks, stores, and issues various types of tools and equipment used in the production department.

Requirements

  • Possesses the operational knowledge and expertise required to operate applicable equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate.
  • Must use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years experience in a Tool Crib or Manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Staffs the Tool Crib service window.
  • Ensures Tool Crib is secure and maintained in a safe and organized manner, following safety protocols and regulations.
  • Issues tools and equipment to authorized personnel and ensures items are returned in proper working order.
  • Maintains accurate records of tool and supply transactions, inventory, and location within the Tool Crib.
  • Set up and change tools on Parlec presetter, as needed.
  • Inspects tools for wear, damage, and defects, performs minor repairs when possible, and reports issues to supervisor as needed.
  • Collaborates with production teams to support their tool and equipment needs.
  • Monitors inventory levels of shop lubricants, oils, coolants, and first aid supplies.
  • Aids in the development of a more efficient tool set-up process.
  • Organizes, monitors and maintains perishable back-up tooling for all ongoing machining projects.
  • Promote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.
  • Assists team members and other departments, as needed.
