SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : The Installation Tool Assembly/Repair Technician is responsible for assembling new installation tools as well as repairing tools returned by customers for service according to detailed specifications and blueprints ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are met. These job responsibilities require using various hand and power tools and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
  • Ability to understand, read, and interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Entry level mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity, including excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Entry level problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • 6-12 months of experience as an Assembly Technician or in a related manufacturing/production role, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification or vocational training in assembly, manufacturing, or a related field, preferred.
  • Experience with specific processes such as soldering, wiring, or working with electro-mechanical systems, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to determine material requirements and understand basic assembly procedures.
  • Assemble mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or electro-mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Perform quality control checks and diagnostic tests on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and are functional.
  • Support Tool failure root cause analysis for repairs and other issues in assembly
  • Maintain accurate records of production and tool repair data, test results, and completed work orders.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain/ensure/coach a safe and clean working environment (adhering to 5S standards).
  • Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and organizing parts/components at the workstation.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments (engineering, quality assurance) to improve assembly processes and contribute/meet/ensure production deadlines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
