About The Position

Share Ice Services (SIS) is searching for an experienced Timekeeper to join our Finance team. The Timekeeper role will support both Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB) and Everett Ship Repair (ESR). Based at our Everett shipyard, the Timekeeper will travel regularly to the Nichols shipyard in Freeland, WA. SIS is the umbrella company that supports NBBB and ESR, both of which are vital to Ice Cap Holdings' strong presence in the Pacific Northwest maritime community. We are seeking a detailed oriented Timekeeper to join our team. Reporting to the Payroll Accounting Specialist, the Timekeeper plays an integral part in supporting the Finance Team. The Timekeeper will be responsible for accurately recording, verifying, and maintaining employee work hours and job codes across multiple shipbuilding projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate labor cost tracking, payroll processing, and project reporting in compliance with company policies and maritime labor standards.

  • An associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field is strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of timekeeping, payroll, or accounting experience - ideally in a shipyard, construction, or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping/ERP systems and importing data
  • Proficiency generating and analyzing timekeeping or payroll reports.
  • Understanding of time control concept
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and report creation.
  • Effective use of MS Outlook, Word, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Ability to work with various file structures

Responsibilities

  • Record and verify daily hours worked for all shipyard employees, trades, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor entries for completeness and timeliness of supervisor-entered employee and contractor work time.
  • Ensure all time entries and job codes are accurate and properly assigned to each project or vessel.
  • Work closely with supervisors and foremen to confirm daily time sheets and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports by pulling project data from multiple software programs.
  • Support payroll processing by submitting verified timekeeping data on schedule.
  • Maintain and update attendance, leave, and shift records.
  • Assist with audits and provide timekeeping documentation when requested.
  • Handle all employee and payroll information with confidentiality and care.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and applicable labor regulations.
