About The Position

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements: Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters. Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN). Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester. Federal Work Study student may apply. Pianists in this position will rehearse and perform with other instrumentalists in preparation for masterclasses, performance seminars, recitals and juries. Student staff accompanists can be paid for up to 6 hours of work per student collaborator per semester, not to exceed a total of 20 hours of student employment per week, between all combined student employment positions.   • Strong piano skills and pianistic facility
  • Good reading skills
  • The desire to collaborate
  • Some familiarity with, and interest in, the repertoire of one or more instruments
  • Strong administrative skills, able to successfully coordinate schedules with other students

Nice To Haves

  • Have some experience as a collaborative pianist and the ability to be artistically responsive to the collaborative partner

Responsibilities

  • Carefully prepare selected scores for work with other instrumental collaborators
  • coordinate schedules to be available for rehearsals and lessons as requested
  • perform as requested with collaborative partners for master classes, studio classes, performance seminars, recordings, recitals and juries
