About The Position

The Ticketing Services Specialist is responsible for executing a range of professional-level administrative and operational functions supporting Ticket Services, including ticketing system administration, event financial processing, reporting, and customer service coordination. This position supports revenue-related activities and ensures accurate financial and operational processes for ticketed events while adhering to established institutional policies and procedures. This position will be required to work all home football games, and the work schedule may include evenings and additional weekends based on event needs. Work is performed in office and event venue environments. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of The Young.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree OR high school diploma with at least 3 years of relevant experience in customer service, financial processing, administrative operations, or ticketing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfort learning new administrative systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced and high-profile environment
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people with diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills

Responsibilities

  • Administers day-to-day operations of the ticketing system, including event builds, pricing, inventory, and seating configurations
  • Ensures accurate setup of fees, discounts, accessibility seating, and event parameters in alignment with established practices
  • Processes ticket sales, exchanges, refunds, and complimentary tickets in accordance with policies
  • Provides first-level troubleshooting and coordinates with IT and vendors for issue resolution
  • Maintains system integrity, including patron data, event records, and reporting structures
  • Coordinates ticketing logistics for events, including system setup, materials preparation, and cash handling readiness
  • Supports event-day box office operations, including will call, issue resolution, and operational troubleshooting
  • Serves as a primary contact for campus partners and event sponsors regarding ticketing procedures
  • Ensures consistent application of customer service and operational standards
  • Maintains operational readiness of box office locations and supplies
  • Reconciles daily ticket sales, prepares deposits, and resolves discrepancies in accordance with internal controls
  • Assists with event-related financial processes, including settlements, revenue tracking, and documentation
  • Generates and distributes routine and ad hoc sales, revenue, and attendance reports
  • Maintains documentation to support audits, compliance requirements, and financial review processes
  • Monitors transactional activity (e.g., PCard or supply expenses) and ensures alignment with policy
  • Compiles and analyzes ticket sales data to identify trends and support operational decision-making
  • Implements established policies and procedures related to ticketing operations, financial processes, and customer service
  • Assists in documenting workflows and updating procedural guides
  • Provides guidance to staff and campus partners on established ticketing and administrative processes
  • Supports procurement and supply tracking in accordance with university policies
  • Assists with training and onboarding of student employees and limited-term staff
  • Provides day-to-day work direction during operations and events
  • Supports scheduling coordination and reinforces service and operational expectations
  • Participates in meetings and committees related to ticketing operations, financial processes, and customer service
  • Provides operational data and reports to support unit planning and decision-making
  • Collaborates with campus partners (e.g., Athletics, Arts programs, Marketing, Finance) to support event success
