Thoughtful Engagement Specialist (TES) Diversified Life Care Partners –Lexington, KY Status: Part-Time Travel: Local (client homes, assisted living, memory care) De partment: Thoughtful Engagement Program Reports To: Director of Services About Diversified Life Care Partners Diversified Life Care Partners provides Aging Life Care™, fiduciary support, private care management, and specialized engagement services for older adults. Our Thoughtful Engagement Program helps clients maintain purpose, joy, and cognitive vitality through personalized, meaningful activities. We are expanding our program and seeking creative, compassionate professionals who are energized by working with seniors—including those living with dementia—to bring fulfillment, connection, and joy into their daily lives. Position Summary The Thoughtful Engagement Specialist (TES) works one-on-one with clients to deliver personalized, enriching activities that support cognitive function, reduce isolation, and build emotional well-being. Using creativity, curiosity, and technical skill, the TES develops unique engagement plans based on each client’s personal history, abilities, and interests. This role is ideal for someone who is warm, adaptable, highly creative, and passionate about helping older adults thrive.

Requirements

3+ years working directly with seniors or individuals with disabilities OR Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (recreation therapy, social work, psychology, education, art, or similar)
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
Ability to pass background check
CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, or assist with light mobility
Lift or move up to 40 lbs. when needed
Ability to tolerate moderate noise and varied environments

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment
Training or background in: Art therapy, Music therapy, Recreational therapy, Cognitive stimulation therapy, Social work or psychology
Experience designing or delivering structured activities for older adults
Comfort with technology: Tablets, Apps for cognitive engagement, VR systems (Meta Quest)

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one Thoughtful Engagement sessions in client homes or facilities.
Create and deliver activities tailored to each client’s cognitive level, interests, and goals (music, memory work, storytelling, art, movement, puzzles, sensory work, etc.)
Utilize innovative tools—including Meta Quest VR experiences, tablets, or digital activities—to support cognitive stimulation and joy.
Develop activity plans informed by client life history, personality, and preferences.
Document each visit with clarity, accuracy, and insight to support the client’s overall care plan.
Work closely with the care management team to align engagement plans with client goals (Coping, Stress & Life Enrichment domain).
Maintain professional communication with families and care partners.
Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing staff development.
Demonstrates deep empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence.
