Thomas W. Reese Distinguished Professor – Graphic Communications Management
About The Position
The Department of Art at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track, nine-month ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE for the Thomas W. Reese Distinguished Professor position in Graphic Communications Management beginning August 2026. This individual will have a record of outstanding undergraduate teaching and accomplished scholarship in the print and digital media technology discipline. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Teach 2-4 courses per year in the Graphic Communications Management curriculum Sustain scholarly research in the field of Graphic Communications. Participate in departmental and university service, including collaborating with Graphic Communication Management colleagues on curriculum, program development, student advising, and Career Connections. Assist with the coordination and supervision of the Graphic Communication Management program. Obtain and build support for the GCM program from the printing industry and allied professions.
Requirements
- Minimum Required qualifications at the Assistant / Associate level include an earned terminal degree (or ABD ) in graphic communications, printing, or closely related field
- at least five-ten years of teaching experience in higher education and/or appropriate industry experience
Responsibilities
