Therapeutic Transportation Specialist
About The Position
Therapeutic Transportation Specialist are compensated $20.00 an hour for short distance assignments and $25.00 per hour for long distance transports. Hours of availability preferred are 7:00 to 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday Intercept Health is a family-owned agency serving various mental and behavioral health, substance use, and foster care needs in Virginia. As a Therapeutic Transportation Specialist, you will provide daily transportation to at-risk children and youth to and from school, medical appointments, visitation, and other requested locations. Specialist will gain an understanding of the client and their needs through participation in the development of an Individualized Service Plan and be responsible for maintaining appropriate, therapeutic interactions and completion of all required documentation. Specialist will primarily be assigned short distance routes, transporting 1-2 youth on a daily basis. One-time, long-distance assignments including transporting youth in and out-of-state. The ideal candidate will be reliable, have a clear understanding of appropriate boundaries, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build relationship with youth.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- At least one year working with children and adolescents with mental illness and/or skills training preferred.
- Candidate must have a valid Driver's License.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily transportation to at-risk children and youth to and from school, medical appointments, visitation, and other requested locations.
- Gain an understanding of the client and their needs through participation in the development of an Individualized Service Plan
- Maintaining appropriate, therapeutic interactions
- Completion of all required documentation.
- Transporting 1-2 youth on a daily basis.
- One-time, long-distance assignments including transporting youth in and out-of-state.
