About The Position

Balance Life & Work with a New Career Opportunity (LONG TERM CARE) (SHORT TERM REHAB) (SKILLED NURSING) (ASSISTED LIVING) (SUB ACUTE CARE) Now Hiring - Therapeutic Technician - Holyoke, MA Minimum $17.00 to Maximum $22.00 Compensation will be based on, but not limited to experience, qualifications, credentials, employment status, and work schedule. Care-One at Holyoke The Therapeutic Assistant will be responsible for: Provide resident supervision, including special staffing, lobby, smoking, patio, and dining room. Monitor attendance at assigned activities and maximize participation through appropriate motivational techniques. Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures, as instructed. Supervise residents in performance of activities of adult daily living, such as daily dental mouth care, bathing, hair care, and nail care. Visually and audibly observe and report on resident’s physical and psychiatric conditions, reporting significant changes to the Nurse Manager and Therapeutic Supervisor. Assist resident with the shaping of new behaviors by providing timely feedback. Encourage interaction and socialization with staff and peers, while acting as a role model. Participate in the development of a plan of care for each resident. Implement individualized behavioral goals outlined in Care Plan. Assist in the development of individualized behavioral protocols. Demonstrate knowledge of crisis management techniques through training and certification in CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention). Respond to behavioral codes, providing early intervention and de-escalation of situation. Participate in in-service education, as provided by facility. Accompany residents to community appointments, assuring safety at all times. Transport residents in facility vehicles, as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health or related field, preferred
  • 1+ year of direct health care experience
  • Valid Driver's license

  • Current CNA license, a plus
