About The Position

Camp Performance Leaders are responsible for the supervision of the campers assigned to their camp group. They will lead campers in activities which support the theatrical arts, swimming, field trips and other organized activities. They will also serve the Summer On Broadway production in the role of stage manager or other production support as deemed necessary. Requirements

  • Performance Leader: Responsible adult, at least 18 years of age and possesses high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Junior Performance Leader: Must be at least 15 years of age and complete at least one year of high school.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer individuals with prior experience leading campers.
  • Depending on the camp assigned to work, the following may be required.
  • Prefer individual with degree or college student working toward degree in the performing arts.
  • Previous instruction in music, dance, theater or stage craft preferred.
  • Prefer individuals with CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions before camp begins as well as scheduled training sessions and meetings during the camp season.
  • Under the leadership of the assistant director, director, and camp supervisor, assists with the planning of activities for campers relevant to the focus of the camp.
  • Assures the safety of all assigned campers, and is watchful of all other campers, including those not specifically assigned to their group.
  • Responsible for alerting the assistant director, director or camp supervisor of any unsafe or suspicious situations that may arise.
  • Must be available to work the entire camp session(s).
  • Responsible for leading and supervising a group of campers in age-appropriate activities that relate to the focus of the camp.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Responsible for adhering and maintaining to ACA accreditation standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to and actively enforce the safety responsibilities, safety procedures outlined in the District's Safety Manual and overall risk management program.
