About The Position

The purpose of this position is to lead others in providing a fun and safe environment for campers. Please note: An offer of employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug screening. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communicates with parents, campers, and staff by informing campers and staff of policies, rules, and procedures, and relaying any infractions of campers to parents and staff. Maintains safety by attending safety training, supervising campers, working with lifeguards to ensure pool safety, reporting any safety hazards to supervisors, and completing accident/injury reports as needed. Assists with the planning of activities by submitting weekly activity sheets and requests to the Director and coordinating vendors as needed. Ensures adherence to rules by communicating policies and procedures to campers and staff and documenting infractions of campers. Provides a safe environment by attending safety training, supervising campers, working with lifeguards to ensure pool safety, reporting any safety hazards to supervisors, and completing accident/injury reports as needed. Coordinates programs by assisting with planning activities, submitting weekly activity sheets and requests, and coordinating vendors as needed. Supplemental Functions: Performs other similar duties as required. Job Specifications and Qualifications: Knowledge: Basic safety and medical principles Developmentally appropriate activities for children Applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Licensing and Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification within two (2) weeks from date of hire. Failure to obtain may result in termination. First Aid Certification Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Positions in this class typically require: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions.
