About The Position

Beacon Charter High School for the Arts is seeking an energetic and creative Theater Director to lead our winter production. The director will be responsible for selecting or collaborating on show selection, casting, scheduling, and directing student performers in all aspects of production. This role offers an opportunity to inspire young artists, foster teamwork, and build confidence and creativity through theater.

Requirements

• Experience directing or assistant directing theater productions (school or community level)
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively with high school students and collaborate with staff and volunteers

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in theater, education, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all aspects of the winter theater production, from auditions to final performances.
• Collaborate with school staff, technical crew, and parent volunteers on set design, costumes, lighting, and sound.
• Organize and run rehearsals after school hours, maintaining a positive, structured, and supportive environment.
• Promote student growth, inclusion, and appreciation for the performing arts.
• Coordinate with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and performance logistics.
