Our work depends on a Lead Tester joining our team to ensure that USPS Information Technology products perform properly and as expected. The Testing Lead will be responsible for overseeing the testing strategy, resource allocation, and team management for various testing roles including automation testers, functional testers, and CAT testers. The Testing Lead will work closely with the Environment Management Team and SCRUM teams to identify appropriate test environments per release.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in testing environment
  • Experience in creating clear test plans and scenarios using HP ALM or similar tools
  • Proficiency in manual testing with knowledge of when to incorporate automated testing
  • Ability to build and utilize Test Automation scripts and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, UFT)
  • Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Version One or other work management tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Experience testing in cloud environments, GCP or Azure preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL for querying databases
  • Familiarity with postman for Web services testing
  • Understanding of SDLC and application lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: DevSecOps VersionOne Postman, SoapUI, AML, UFT Secure Coding practices Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices PLSQL
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the testing strategy
  • Allocate resources effectively for testing activities
  • Manage automation testers, functional testers, and CAT testers
  • Assist in identifying appropriate test environments for each release
  • Collaborate with the Environment Management Team and SCRUM teams
  • Act as the Testing Lead, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate and report to the application team leaders, business partners, and ELT on a routine basis
  • Ability to cross train and mentor the testing team, including other vendors and USPS resources
  • Responsible for Chaos and HA testing
