About The Position

Chemistry Test Technician We are looking for a Chemistry Test Technician to join our Portland, OR site. The Chemistry Test Tech performs a variety of tasks related to the testing of raw materials, manufactured products or manufacturing processes. Perform equipment calibration & testing and testing & program inspections. Requirements

  • 1-2 years lab experience
  • Familiar with measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Associate’s, Bachelors, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical sample preparations for combustion method testing.
  • Mechanical sample prep will include cutting and grinding of metal samples using various equipment including belt sander, jewelers saw, abrasive cut off saw and rotary wet grinder.
  • Analyze samples using a variety of analytical instrumentation.
  • Analytical instrumentation may include but is not limited to oxygen/nitrogen analyzer, hydrogen analyzer, carbon/sulfur determinator and arc-spark optical emission spectrometer (OES).
  • Perform work in accordance with proper work procedures and in a safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and assist in troubleshooting and repairs of equipment as needed.
  • Communicate data, workflow, equipment and all other lab related information.
  • Accurately complete datasheets using manual and exported data.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by management.
