About The Position
Chemistry Test Technician We are looking for a Chemistry Test Technician to join our Portland, OR site. The Chemistry Test Tech performs a variety of tasks related to the testing of raw materials, manufactured products or manufacturing processes. Perform equipment calibration & testing and testing & program inspections. Location: Portland, OR Hourly Rate: $19-$22/hour Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in OR. Requirements
- 1-2 years lab experience
- Familiar with measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Associate’s, Bachelors, or equivalent experience
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical sample preparations for combustion method testing.
- Mechanical sample prep will include cutting and grinding of metal samples using various equipment including belt sander, jewelers saw, abrasive cut off saw and rotary wet grinder.
- Analyze samples using a variety of analytical instrumentation.
- Analytical instrumentation may include but is not limited to oxygen/nitrogen analyzer, hydrogen analyzer, carbon/sulfur determinator and arc-spark optical emission spectrometer (OES).
- Perform work in accordance with proper work procedures and in a safe manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance and assist in troubleshooting and repairs of equipment as needed.
- Communicate data, workflow, equipment and all other lab related information.
- Accurately complete datasheets using manual and exported data.
- Perform other tasks as directed by management.
