About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Test Technician to join our team at Pacific Scientific EMC. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, executing, and documenting tests on our diverse product line. You will conduct complex non-destructive testing in accordance with written procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs), and In-Process Test Procedures (ITPs). You will also need to interpret dimensional and schematic drawings and perform test setups. Additionally, you will work closely with the engineering and production teams to identify issues, ensure product quality, and verify that our products meet rigorous performance and safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and hands-on experience with test equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years’ experience as a Test Technician, preferably in an Aerospace and/or Defense environment.
  • Electronic Test Equipment: Proficient in the use of basic electronic test equipment such as volt meters, current meters, and oscilloscopes (O-scopes).
  • Mechanical Measuring Tools: Proficient in the use of basic mechanical measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and hand tools.
  • Dimensional Drawings and Test Procedures: Strong working knowledge in interpreting dimensional drawings and test procedures.
  • Test Setup Optimization: Demonstrated ability to improve and optimize test setups.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Related Field and/or Military Experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design Verification and Acceptance Testing: Responsible for design verification and acceptance testing of electronic products.
  • Test Setup and Execution: Set up and operate a variety of test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, environmental chambers) to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of products according to test procedures.
  • Procedure Compliance: Review and conduct tests in accordance with written procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), Qualification Test Procedures (QTPs), and In-Process Test Procedures (ITPs).
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust test equipment, components, and systems.
  • Documentation: Accurately document test results, maintaining detailed records and generating comprehensive reports.
  • Tool Utilization: Use small hand and power tools along with various measuring and testing devices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in the development and implementation of new testing methodologies and procedures. Participate in process improvement meetings and team 5S activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Environmental and Stress Testing: Conduct environmental, stress, and durability testing as required.
  • Dimensional and Schematic Interpretation: Interpret dimensional and schematic drawings to accurately perform test setups.
