About The Position

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Accessibility Services, the Test Proctor & Accessibility Services Assistant supports the implementation of academic accommodations and serves as a front-line contact for students engaging with the office. The assistant will proctor exams for students approved for test-taking accommodations at the Longmeadow and East Longmeadow campuses and remotely, ensuring test integrity and adherence to accommodations. Additionally, this role provides general office support, assists students with questions about accommodations and procedures, and facilitates a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; experience in education, student services, or related field preferred.
  • Experience administering standardized or course-based tests.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all student populations.
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions and document activities accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
  • Availability for in-person and virtual proctoring during daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license; ability to travel between campuses as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the online safe Driving Course (within 15 days of hire) and driving record check at time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the University community including students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment.
  • General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.

Responsibilities

  • Proctor and administer standardized and course-based exams to individuals and small groups.
  • Maintain a quiet, secure, and supportive atmosphere for testing in accordance with ADA and academic integrity standards.
  • Monitor testing sessions in person or via video; ensure accurate timing and adherence to test instructions.
  • Maintain detailed testing schedules, records, and test files; ensure confidentiality of sensitive materials.
  • Communicate with faculty and staff to coordinate the timely receipt and return of testing materials.
  • Assist students with accommodations requiring human interaction (e.g., reading aloud, scribing).
  • Greet students, answer general inquiries about Accessibility Services, and provide guidance on documentation or processes.
  • Support the Associate Director and office staff with filing, recordkeeping, and documentation in AIM or related platforms.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between students, faculty, and Accessibility Services to ensure clarity and responsiveness.
  • Attend required trainings and remain current with FERPA, ADA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Adhere to all University policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend trainings as required.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the University.
