Description/Duties: Responsible for daily planning, coordination, and technical direction of staff. Ensures on-time and with-in budget requirements. Interfaces with NASA and other contractor management in understanding and definition of tasks and operations. Ensures that only qualified personnel are utilized in conducting task(s) under this contract and, where applicable, that only individual(s) with proper certification conduct work that requires certification. Responsible for training and preparing team for current and future task(s). Duties include (but are not limited to): Coordinates with NASA customers to assess skill needs and coordinates/maintains employee certifications to satisfy those needs. Ensures all tasks comply with all pertinent MSFC procedures. Validates Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) and Quality guideline compliance. Oversees operations and provides leadership to Contractor’s technical workforce for various backgrounds and skill sets to ensure: the efficient and effective accomplishment of all tasks to adequately meet the requirements of the Government, the safety and health of the workforce, and protection of Government property from damage. Makes recommendations for process improvements necessary to accomplish tasks.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution OR 2 years of directly related experience is required in comparable field (experience may serve in lieu of the degree requirement )
  • Background in machine tool operations, lifting operations, mechanical fabrication/assembly disciplines, knowledge of welding operations
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship
  • Must be dependable and able to work hours outside the normal schedule.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills to gather, understand, and meet customer requirements
  • Must demonstrate professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
  • Experience reading and understanding specifications and detailed work instructions
  • Must be able to pass a physical examination for any required safety-related certifications
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Vacuum Chamber and Thermatron experience
  • Background in instrumentation applications, data collection, electrical assembly, soldering, crimping, fabricating various types of cables/connectors
