About The Position

TransitAmerica Services, Inc. is seeking a Traction Electrification Systems (TES) Superintendent in Menlo Park, CA to join our team. The TES Superintendent provides technical leadership, operational oversight, and supervisory support for SCADA-based traction power systems. This role ensures safe, reliability, and efficient operation of electrification infrastructure while supporting departmental objectives and compliance requirements The pay range for this position is $150,000 – $170,000. Duties and Responsibilities: This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field and at least two (2) years of SCADA operations experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., two years of relevant education plus two years of SCADA operations experience).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of 2×25 kV traction power systems for rail electrification, including equipment, technologies, operating methods, safety hazards, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and PDF software.
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of the position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).

Responsibilities

  • Support department management in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for Traction Power and the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) functions
  • Monitor incoming SCADA traction power alarms and prioritize response actions in coordination with relevant departments
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and training materials
  • Train, supervise, and ensure Power Control Supervisors and SCADA personnel comply with departmental procedures, work rules, and reporting requirements
  • Document procedural violations, notify management, and recommend or implement corrective actions as required
  • Provide shift coverage when Controllers are unavailable, including flexibility for schedule changes
  • Deliver technical support through interpretation of drawings, troubleshooting, and recommendations regarding construction methods and traction power equipment
  • Collaborate regularly with internal departments, client representatives, utility providers, and subcontractors
