About The Position

We’re seeking a Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to own and grow Turtlebox’s independent retail business across the Mid West region. We have previously worked with contractors in this region - we would like to further invest in the territory and hire a W-2 employee to represent our brand. This role is responsible for building strong, long-term relationships with outdoor, hunting/fishing, premium lifestyle, and specialty retailers, while driving revenue growth, brand presence, and market penetration. The ideal candidate is an independent, motivated, and results-oriented sales professional who thrives in the field, understands the outdoor retail ecosystem, and knows how to grow both doors and dollars. This candidate will have a mix of driving and airplane travel within territory.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of outside sales experience, ideally in outdoor, sporting goods, or premium consumer products.
  • Based in the Great Lakes region and located within reasonable driving distance of a major airport to support frequent regional and national travel.
  • Demonstrated success in growing wholesale revenue and opening new independent retail accounts.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Expert communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the territory
  • Managing travel efficiently, segmenting focus areas, and balancing urban vs. rural markets
  • Be an expert in the outdoors activities in your region - water sports, snow sports, mountain biking, BBQ/beer, hiking, fishing, hunting. A TSM needs to speak this language and align Turtlebox with regional outdoor culture and the different buyers you will work with
  • Be an expert in the seasonality of this territory and build a plan for success during cold months
  • Passion for the outdoors and alignment with Turtlebox’s brand values.

Responsibilities

  • Territory Growth & Revenue: Develop and execute a growth strategy for the Great Lakes region, meeting and exceeding revenue targets for independent accounts.
  • New Account Development: Identify, prospect, and open new retail partners in alignment with Turtlebox’s brand ethos (outdoor, premium, and lifestyle specialty shops).
  • Account Management: Strengthen relationships with existing dealers to grow sell-in and sell-through, ensuring repeat orders and category growth.
  • Brand Building: Drive visibility of Turtlebox at retail by securing fixtures, POP displays, merchandising, and in-store events.
  • Territory Coverage: Actively travel throughout the territory to conduct store visits, clinics, and events—serving as the brand face for Turtlebox.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate pipeline management, sales forecasting, and territory performance tracking.
