About The Position

The Terminal Manager position is directly responsible for local safety management, driver recruiting and staffing, vehicle maintenance, and the overall efficient, effective cost management of the operation while complying with all regulatory agencies including, but not limited to DOT, OHSA, and FDA requirements at our facility. Promotes and develops safe work behaviors. Provides coaching to reduce injuries and vehicle accidents in an effort to exceed safety targets. Conducts required monthly safety meetings for all assigned locations. Develops training tools to support Airgas Merchant Gases safety initiatives Creates staff schedule in collaboration with logistics center personnel to ensure sufficient man days to exceed targets for customer satisfaction and customer service levels. Performs accident investigations, both preventable and non-preventable, recommending corrective actions to eliminate re-occurrences. Performs accident follow ups including post-accident check rides. Completes annual performance appraisals and development of improvement plans as required. Ensures sufficient driver staffing levels through recruitment and retention strategies. Presents and tracks safety and quality required training Audits completion of all required paperwork accurately on a timely basis to ensure compliance with company’s various policies and procedures. Drive continuous improvement throughout the business to include safety, customer service, & efficiency KPIs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of Distribution/Logistic experience
  • Familiar with DOT Hours/FDA Requirements
  • Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Bulk Transportation/Maintenance experience
  • Engineering Degree or Diploma in chemical/Mechanical Engineering
  • Industrial Experience (Operations or Maintenance management)
  • Project management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer sales transactions and coordinate product supply, including monitoring shipping volume, coordinating with logistics coordinators, communicating supply planning to customers, and supporting supply chain improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals related to safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory through ERP transactions, monitor demands and inventory levels, proactively identify supply risks, calculate forecast accuracy, receive and manage orders, provide visibility on inventory status, and monitor supply risks.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, work cross-functionally to achieve goals, and identify logistics dysfunctions for improvement.
  • Coordinate Bulk distribution to Clients and filling centers, ensure optimal inventory levels at clients and plants, perform demand or consumption analysis.
  • Ensure activity monitoring: Analyze and manage costs to optimize the number of vehicles, optimizing routes and frequencies.
  • Contribute to the formation of budgets.
  • Ensure monitoring of efficiency indicators.
  • Perform accurate and relevant data analysis and proposes appropriate adjustments.
