Tennis Court Maintenance
About The Position
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of courts and areas adjacent to courts. Maintain and repair tennis maintenance machines and equipment. Familiarity with tennis court surface materials, cleaning agents, solvents, and the game/rules of tennis. Assist in the process of court opening and court closing each season, which includes but is not limited to, putting up and taking down lines, nets, water coolers, cooler stands, scorecards, court numbers, benches, and windscreens. Inspect lighting fixtures and keep in working order. Groom the courts twice daily (morning and following afternoon watering) which includes a combination of rolling and brushing and cleaning the lines. Grooming of the courts will need to be done twice daily on weekends as well. Operate an irrigate/court watering system; learn the system and be able to operate the system independently. Fill water coolers with fresh water and ice daily on all courts. Empty trash cans daily. Replenish the cups for the water coolers daily. Replenish towels daily. Address weeds and algae that grows on the tennis courts. Use minor maintenance equipment for various jobs; such as pressure washer, spreader, and leaf blower. Communicate with front desk staff daily about court issues and court closures.
Requirements
- This person must be able to work early mornings and weekends.
- Must be dependable
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with a team and analyze effective workflow and process.
- Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems.
- Will require organizational skills and willingness to be extremely picky about court conditions.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and push/pull 100 lbs.
- Must be able to work in the heat and humidity.
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight.
