About The Position

Temporary Summer Classroom Assistants are needed to support the Summer Academy program in K-8 classes at Rochester Community Schools. Applications for these temporary positions will be accepted until they are filled. Classroom assistants will be expected to support the implementation of instructional techniques that will improve student achievement. Emphasis will be placed on higher-level thinking skills, organizational skills, integration of knowledge, connecting learning to prior knowledge, cooperative learning, active learner participation, and technology integration. The actual number of positions depends on enrollment. You are expected to be able to work the entire length and hours of the program McGregor Elementary June 15 – 18, 22– 25, 29-30, July 1 – 2 (12 days) Staff Hours: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm Student Hours: 8:15 am – 12:15 pm Mandatory Staff Meeting and Room Prep: June 11th (8:00 am – 12:30 pm) Mandatory Clean-up/Check-out: July 2nd (stay until 1:00 pm) Interviews are scheduled for March.

Requirements

• Desire to work with at-risk students.
• Willingness to work with students who need to be academically challenged.
• Must be available to work the entire length of the program.
