About The Position

Morrison Center is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to cover a leave. 18 hours a week for 12 weeks. Starting from the end of June through the end of September! Scarborough Maine at Morrison Center's Special Purpose Private School K-12. You would be working with a multidisciplinary team to help make a profound difference in the lives of children with special needs. This is more than just a job—it's a chance to be a lifeline, advocate, and educator for students with severe cognitive and physical disabilities, all while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will also have an opportunity to contribute to organizational training initiatives ensuring best care practices. Morrison Center is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to provide comprehensive, individualized support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Maine
  • Experience with children with disabilities is preferred
  • Compassionate communicator with strong critical thinking and clinical skills.
  • Ability to work independently while embracing a collaborative team model

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and emergency nursing care to students throughout the school day.
  • Build trusted, consistent relationships with students, gaining an in-depth understanding of their individual health needs.
  • Administer first aid and on-site medical assessments for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with school staff to implement and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs).
  • Maintain clear, timely, and accurate documentation of nursing care and student health records.
  • Serve as a leader in promoting health and safety best practices across the agency by supporting and facilitating staff training initiatives.
  • Communicate with families and external medical professionals to ensure cohesive, holistic care for each student.
