About The Position

RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN. RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area. Temporary - Full-Time RN Location: Hospital / Inpatient - EDPosition Status: .9 fte; Non-exempt subject to over-time Schedule: up to 72 hours per two-week pay period Pay Range: $42.24 - $59.15 /per hour (DOE - based on experience) - non-benefitted River View Health has an opening for a Temporary - Registered Nurse (FT) for the Hospital-Inpatient Unit. This position will train to Med-Surg, and then specialize at a minimum 1 of the following areas: ICU, OB, or Emergency Room. This position will work Med Surgical and Peds and may cover shifts between (7am-7pm) or (7pm - 7am) supporting all Riverview Health IPU and ED. This position is available to assist our departments for employee vacations, leaves, and sick calls. This position is subject to low‑census docking and provides flexible staffing support across inpatient and emergency services.

Requirements

  • Current State of Minnesota RN license.
  • Current American Heart BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care - Develops and implements care plans based on patient condition and medical protocols. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician. Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise.
  • Documentation and Reporting - Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Communication and Collaboration - Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members. Provide patient education on care plans, discharge instructions, and medications.
  • Patient Advocacy and Safety - Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
