About The Position

Summary of Position Functions: Assists in administering the center’s Health and Wellness Services Plan Major Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, environmental health, as well as physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines. Inspect the food service facility and dormitories regularly.  Develop and maintain an inventory control system for medication, equipment, and medical supplies.  Conduct inventories of supplies and medications monthly.  Purchase medication and medical supplies.  Participate in nurses’ on-call rotation.  Function as a staff nurse as needed.  Collect data and maintain wellness monthly Utilization Reports.  Plan, organize, and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures. Note: This job description is not all inclusive. Employees will perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and support a team
  • Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices
  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA)
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with medical needs of young adults
  • Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment
  • Proficient using a computer software which includes Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)
  • State Licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Three years’ experience as a practicing nurse; one of which was in a lead capacity.
  • Must possess a Valid NYS Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
