Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Occupational Medicine or related occupational health setting and certification in urine drug testing and breathe alcohol testing and Hearing Conversation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse following Occupational Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Medical Director, Physician, and Clinical Nurse Manager in providing services to employees and clients.
  • Maintain Health records of Occupational Medicine clients.
  • Maintain record of all services delivered/rendered in order to establish that Occupational Medicine clients are physically able to work and are free of active communicable diseases.
  • Maintains and focuses on infection control policies.
  • Informs Director of any employee/medical staff/student problems exposures.
  • Assists in testing of clients; such as audiometric, vision testing and in providing substance abuse testing.
  • Performs fit testing for N95 masks on employee’s.
  • Arranges immunization appointment and documents as per protocol.
  • Maintains ongoing annual physical screening program for all employees; sends out notification letters to employees and follow-ups on appointments.
  • Assesses and evaluates all clients referred to Occupational Medicine Service by a supervisor or Department Head for medical consultation.
  • Assesses employees absent five days or more and takes appropriate action.
  • Assists with the preparation of statistical reports and in keeping accurate data on employee incidents such as: treatment, referrals, work restriction, and return to work clearance.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
