About The Position

12th Tribe is seeking a Temporary Head of Digital Commerce (3–6 month contract) to provide executive-level leadership during a leave of absence and lead our continued online growth. This is a highly strategic, hands-on role responsible for driving and scaling our digital business across ecommerce, performance marketing, and digital channels. Equal parts strategy and execution, this leader will partner closely with the Founder and executive team, own the digital P&L, and translate data-driven insights into measurable action. As a founder-led, digitally native brand with a strong community and loyal customer base, we are looking for a leader who can connect product, creative, customer data, and performance marketing to drive intentional, profitable growth during this transition period. As a key collaborator with senior leadership, you will help guide digital strategy across fashion, retail, and media channels—bringing clarity, momentum, and operational rigor while maintaining brand integrity. Your ability to analyze trends, prioritize effectively, and lead execution with precision will be instrumental in maintaining and accelerating our growth trajectory. Requirements

  • 10+ years of direct-to-consumer eCommerce experience, with a proven record of growth
  • Demonstrated success leading full digital commerce operations.
  • Extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar media budgets and delivering measurable results.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in lifecycle marketing, behavioral analytics, and retention-focused strategies.
  • Background in the fashion, luxury, or women’s lifestyle sectors, with experience managing complex product assortments and high SKU counts.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, TripleWhale, in-platform META, Google, Attentive, Klaviyo, and Looker dashboards) and Excel for transforming large data sets into actionable insights.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify Plus and various performance reporting tools.
  • Expertise in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, TikTok, Facebook Ads Manager) and tag management systems, with a focus on analytical optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable business strategies, balancing long-term goals with short-term execution.
  • Proven success in building KPIs, dashboards, and streamlined reporting to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a strong ability to synthesize complex data and inspire strategic alignment across departments.
  • Experience rolling up all details of performance from historical into actionable recommendations or insights to drive previous learnings into go-forward actions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forward-looking, data-driven strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth across all digital channels.
  • Drive sustainable, profitable growth by aligning media budgets and resource allocation with performance goals and strategic priorities.
  • Create and launch a loyalty and membership program to increase customer engagement and lifetime value by leveraging targeted insights.
  • Own and evolve the e-commerce roadmap, leveraging analytics to prioritize site enhancements, app integrations, and user experience improvements.
  • Own the e-commerce business, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution to deliver measurable results.
  • Full Marketing Calendar ownership in collaboration across all departments.
  • Be able to connect the dots between creative, product, and performance into one cohesive look back and action plan.
  • Full asset responsibility across all customer-facing channels of paid and CRM channels.
  • Own all DTC Channels across eCom & Retail.
  • Provide an overarching dashboard that ties all components into one clear executive view.
  • Oversee lifecycle marketing programs, crafting personalized email and SMS campaigns informed by deep customer segmentation and behavior analysis.
  • Optimize media spend and performance across channels by leveraging analytics to align campaigns with KPIs such as ROI, ROAS, CPA, and revenue.
  • Lead rigorous A/B testing to refine campaign performance, using data to inform creative, messaging, and audience segmentation decisions.
  • Monitor and analyze customer behavior and campaign performance, transforming data into actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, instilling a culture of analytical thinking, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Build and manage relationships with external partners, including agencies, SaaS providers, and platform vendors, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Partner closely with Creative and Product teams to ensure marketing efforts are data-informed and align with the brand’s strategic objectives.
  • Ensure the Creative, Product, and performance align with product spend and sell-through goals across each drop, sale, and month-two drop campaigns.
  • Ability to oversee and step in for CRM and Paid Media briefing to the graphic design team.
  • Leverage analytics to plan and execute on-site campaigns, ensuring seamless integration of promotions, banners, and launches for maximum impact.
  • Collaborate with inventory and product teams to align marketing initiatives with inventory trends and sales forecasts, along with any inventory gluts we need to push through via strategic destocking campaigns and new product pushes.
  • Build financial models and deliver data-driven recommendations to inform decision-making and maximize e-commerce profitability.
  • Analyze and provide insights into what’s working and what's not on site and across various tech stack platforms.
  • Use customer segmentation and advanced analytics to create personalized strategies that drive improvements in LTV, AOV, and conversion rates.
  • Scale affiliate and influencer marketing programs with data-backed insights to increase market penetration and brand reach.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging data to maintain a competitive edge in digital commerce.
