Temporary Faculty Pool Schoof of Nursing College of Health, Human Services and Nursing Position Description The School of Nursing at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), invites highly qualified, motivated, and well-organized, nurse applicants for a pool of part-time teaching appointments. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends in mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.

Requirements

• A Master degree in Nursing.
• Appropriate experience related to the subject of the course(s) assigned.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching adult learners from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
• Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
• The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 , revised December 24, 2021, as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
• A Doctoral degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
• Experience teaching online

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned online undergraduate, graduate or doctoral courses in the department’s nursing curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
• Engage in activities to maintain currency in the field such as clinical practice, coursework, conference attendance, and continuing education classes.
• Clinical instructors have additional responsibilities related to the clinical site, student compliance with clinical agency requirements, oversight of the student, and communication with the preceptors
