About The Position

The successful candidate is expected to teach a broad range of courses in construction management at both graduate and undergraduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong teaching interest in, but not limited to, building materials and methods, construction graphics, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, construction safety, design-build project delivery, project controls, and preconstruction services. Candidates with a specialty in generative design, lean construction, BIM, robotics, and automation, as well as data sciences in construction are strongly encouraged to apply. Other responsibilities may include student advising and supervision; working with a diverse community of students and faculty.

Requirements

  • An earned Master's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; or a Master of Business Administration with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Evidence of professional experience.
  • Experience in both design and construction development professional practice and teaching design and construction development related topics.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful teaching experience at the graduate level, which may be exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in construction management and related subjects at undergraduate level.
  • Expertise and working knowledge in design-build and collaborative project delivery methods.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
  • Student advising and supervision
