About The Position

Since 1891, New York's Carnegie Hall has set the international standard for excellence in performance, presenting exceptional concerts by the world’s finest artists on its three iconic stages, from orchestral concerts, chamber music, contemporary offerings, and recitals to jazz, world, and popular music. Complementing its performance activities, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute creates extensive music education and social impact programs that annually serve more than 800,000 people worldwide, playing a central role in fulfilling Carnegie Hall's commitment to making great music accessible to as many people as possible. Reporting to the Director, Program Administration, this position manages the day-to-day processing of artistic contracts and payments for the Carnegie Hall presentation season, under the guidance of the General Manager, Artistic and Operations, as well as the Legal and Finance Departments to ensure compliance on all legal and tax matters.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the capability to master new programs and functionalities quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Contract management experience; preferably in performing arts administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of non-US tax resident taxation (withholding requirements, CWAs, tax reporting) preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint and DocuSign or other contract processing systems preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage drafting, vetting and processing of artist contracts/riders and associated vendor agreements for all Carnegie Hall presentation events.
  • Communicate externally with artists, artist managers and partner organizations, and internally with various departments regarding contract negotiations, rider requirements, payment arrangements, as well as tax documentation, reporting and withholding requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Finance Department on payment processing and tax compliance.
  • Coordinate contract edits/revisions with Director, Program Administration; General Manager, Artistic and Operations; and General Counsel.
  • Coordinate rider requirements with Director, Artistic Projects.
