About The Position

As a Flight Dynamics (FD) Test Engineer, you will support our nation’s missile defense initiatives by leading system-level integration, verification, and validation of flight dynamics capabilities within a complex, COTS-based Common Ground Enterprise (CGE) environment.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) field OR Master’s degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years with a Master’s degree
  • System-level integration, verification, and validation (V&V) of complex ground and space systems
  • TT&C and C2 system testing and integration
  • COTS-based system integration in mission-critical environments
  • Test procedure development, requirement verification, and system validation
  • CCSDS standards, including XTCE and cFS
  • MBSE-driven integration and test workflows
  • Automated test scripting, including command and telemetry interfaces
  • Agile development and test environments

Nice To Haves

  • Integration experience with Space-to-Ground and Ground-to-Antenna architectures for CGE COTS-based C2 systems
  • Prior space command or operational experience
  • Hands-on experience with: OpenC3 Python Kafka, InfluxDB, Redis Kubernetes & microservice architectures Cloud platforms (AWS, Red Hat Openstack Platform-RHOSP)
  • Security Integration
  • Lab or operational COTS integration experience working closely with systems engineering teams
  • Knowledge of antenna build-out, antenna operations, and interfaces, including Ground Entry Point (GEP) as a Service
  • Subsystem integration experience with command queues, InfluxDB, and Redis

Responsibilities

  • Support CGE integration of Flight Dynamics (FD) capabilities
  • Integrate and test COTS Flight Dynamics tools, including a.i.Solutions FreeFlyer / Meridian or similar products
  • Perform system-level integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) across: Flight Dynamics (FD) Command & Control (C2) Mission Planning (MP) Planning & Scheduling (P&S) Ground Resource Management (GRM) Network Management (NM) Fire Control Element (FCE)
  • Develop system test procedures, execute integration testing, and verify requirements through system-level validation
  • Integrate and validate CCSDS interoperability standards, including: XTCE (XML Telemetric and Command Exchange) cFS (Core Flight System)
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to integration and test (I&T)
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts, including C2 command and telemetry flows
  • Support STTC (S-band) RF integration and test activities
  • Provide end-to-end (“cradle to grave”) ownership of test and system engineering activities on a fast-paced system design and integration program
