About The Position

This role will be onsite at our Easton office in Columbus, OH. We are seeking a Telemetry & Observability Lead Engineer to design and build scalable observability solutions that support enterprise resiliency and business continuity initiatives. This role will focus on collecting, processing, and analyzing metrics, logs, traces, and events across AWS-based systems to enable proactive detection, rapid incident response, and continuous resiliency improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience in cloud engineering, data engineering, SRE, or platform engineering roles

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience building or operating telemetry, monitoring, or observability platforms
  • Hands-on experience designing data pipelines for large-scale, time-series or event-driven data
  • Experience supporting production systems in high-availability or multi-region AWS environments
  • Exposure to resiliency engineering, incident response, post-incident analysis, or reliability practices
  • Strong AWS expertise (CloudWatch, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, ECS/EKS, IAM)
  • Data engineering and ETL skills, including streaming and batch pipeline design
  • Proficiency with observability tools and frameworks (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Elastic, or similar)
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages
  • Understanding of telemetry concepts: metrics, logs, traces, SLIs/SLOs, alerting strategies
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • Ability to design resilient, fault-tolerant systems with cost and scalability in mind

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the development of strategy, planning, funding, and delivery of technology products and services to the Business Segment(s) and delivery partners.
  • Partners in developing /executing technology strategy and is responsible for end-to-end technology project execution including resource planning.
  • Responsible for financial transparency across IT (including initiatives and base operations) for the Business Segment(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
