Telemetry/Monitor Technician Heart Hospital, CVICU Fast-paced area is looking for top skilled Monitor Tech. Is that you? What You Will Do Texas Health Telemetry Monitor Technicians require a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices, and ability to function in a fast paced, changing environment. . D emonstrate competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment. Collect, report and document patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. Distinguish and report abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care. Ensure admission/dismissals are processed promptly; preparations are made to get the monitor ready for admission. Communicate promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance . Assist with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements . Documents accurately and appropriately. Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital is a separately licensed facility located on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. Our 47-bed hospital includes a 20-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and a 27-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit. We are accredited for Chest Pain by The Joint Commission and have consistently earned the American Heart Association’s Gold Plus Award. Additionally, our CVICU and Cardiac Telemetry Unit have received the Silver-level Beacon Award from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). We are proud to be rated 5 stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Our specialties include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve surgeries, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support, and various lung procedures. We also provide comprehensive cardiac care, including treatment for heart failure, cardiomyopathies, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and post-cardiac catheterization care such as angioplasty, stenting, electrophysiology studies, and device implantation. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • 1 year direct patient care experience involving telemetry monitoring and/or completion of educational program which includes telemetry monitoring.
  • BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
