Processing telephone calls accurately and efficiently through an advanced/computerized telephone console for all entities of the Blessing Health System. The position uses all available directories and resources like Voalte to locate physicians and personnel in various departments and entities. Position also initiates transfers from other hospitals to Blessing, locates intake workers for psych admits, and coordinates remote language translation services as needed. After hours makes calls to appropriate on-call physicians, nurses, and staff as needed for various outpatient and in-house calls and emergencies. Telecommunications acts as a 24-hour emergency response center and notifies the appropriate personnel of all hospital emergencies. This includes emergencies like Armed Intruder, Code Blue, De-escalation, Heart Teams, Missing Person, Rapid Response, Stroke, Trauma, etc. Telecommunication operators also perform monitoring of various systems that include fire alarm panels and panic alarm systems (multiple campuses), Centrak infant abduction system, severe weather radio, and electrical generators. Other duties include delivering of replacement and special needs telecommunication equipment/hardware (i.e. telephone handsets, amplified handsets, speakerphones, call cords, radios, etc.). Perform clerical duties as needed to support the needs of the department and its customers. Participate in departmental and organizational special committees. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission and Vision of Blessing Health System. ICARE standards must be demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other policies is required.
