About The Position
This course, TEC 612 - Reading and Language Arts in the Intermediate Grades, focuses on theoretical principles and pedagogical strategies necessary for developing and maintaining a balanced comprehensive literacy program. The program addresses the full range of learners in grades 4-8 and includes reading, writing, listening, speaking, and critical literacy. The curriculum will cover the structures, methods, and expectations for a rigorous reading and writing workshop. Candidates (students) will learn to design small group and whole-class teaching approaches grounded in assessment and tailored to students’ assets and needs.
