About The Position

NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach BIOL 159C Personal Nutrition. This in-person course provides students with essential knowledge in the fundamentals of nutrition, focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance. The course is an introductory course, including laboratory, for the individual interested in nutrition as a tool for personal health promotion and disease prevention. It incorporates basic principles of nutrition with discussions of contemporary issues. Laboratory exercises allow for exploration of lecture topics and will include the scientific method, diet analysis and nutritional and lifestyle risk analysis. The course is intended for non-science majors.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in science (or a minimum of 12 graduate-level credits) required.
  • Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS)

Responsibilities

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
  • Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
