About The Position

Kamehameha Schools Kapālama is seeking a Technology Resource Coordinator to support its Kula Haʻahaʻa (Elementary School). The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and school leadership. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills are essential for managing a fast-paced, student‑centered technology environment. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the school’s 1:1 iPad program, including: Managing and organizing student device roll‑out and roll‑in processes, Overseeing device maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair workflows, Maintaining accurate inventory and documentation of student devices, Providing basic technical support and guidance to students. The position requires a self-directed, motivated individual who can work independently, take initiative, and ensure smooth daily operations of the student device program. The role supports the laptop learning program through management of student laptops, including maintenance, distribution, and consistent communication of technology procedures and policies to stakeholders. It promotes responsible technology use, facilitates effective technology integration, and assists with technology‑related student needs in accordance with established guidelines. The coordinator also assists in the development and implementation of innovative, 21st‑century Hawaiian culture‑based education (HCBE) learning environments and maintains school website content.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 2-3 years' experience working with computer technology and/or computer assisted instruction and multi-media design.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on laptops and computers and identify potential root causes.
  • Ability and willingness to learn about and use new technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a changing and sometimes challenging educational environment.
  • Excellent understanding of how computer systems work and able to assist students in problem solving.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple functions and priorities in an efficient manner.
  • Excellent ability to work with young adolescents in an educational setting.
  • Excellent ability to communicate with adults – faculty/staff and parents.
  • Ability to work independently, to show initiative and to be solution oriented.
  • Some previous teaching experience with young adolescents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the maintenance and repair of computers.
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, history, and/or language.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of KS internal policies, procedures, Strategic Plan, vision, mission and goals.
  • Experience in working with ethnically diverse student and staff populations, especially Native Hawaiians.
  • Experience in building working relationships with a wide variety of groups to forward the mission of the organization.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with young adolescents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management and maintenance of the student laptop program, including device distribution and collection, inventory control, peripheral tracking, and start‑of‑year training coordination.
  • Support daily operations of the Print and Repair Center by assisting with troubleshooting and resolving student laptop and technology‑related issues.
  • Collect and compile program‑related data, as directed, to support implementation of the laptop program.
  • Collaborate with administrators, educators, students, and community partners to support procedures and practices that align with technology policies, instructional best practices, and a safe, culture‑based learning environment.
  • Support engagement across the division, schools, and community to advance innovative approaches to 21st‑century Hawaiian culture‑based education.
  • Partner with faculty and staff by providing technology expertise and hands‑on assistance to support student learning initiatives.
