Under the Technology Director supervision, monitors and maintains networking systems including LAN, network segments, configures network switches\outers, servers and backups, including installation of workstation operating systems; upgrading hardware and software as necessary, troubleshooting and repair of network devices; implements end user network services. Be able to troubleshoot networked computers within CISD. Ability to lift and transport heavy computer equipment, and install networking cables or devices, and install and support hardware/software within the CISD. Manage and maintain Video Surveillance, NVR, Door Access with creation of door programming and operation. Create User IDs with Access rights in accordance with per building and/or door rights. Work and maintain notification system including but not limited to intercom and UHF Hand held radios. Maintain student and staff safety by configuring content filtering, virus protection software, and firewall restrictions in accord with districts direction. All duties will be done with an equity lens and support of all in our district. Home visits are required, and are part of this jobs duties when assigned

  • Install, Configure, and Maintain Networking equipment under the direction of the Technology Director.
  • Perform network address assignment.
  • Assign routing protocols and routing table configurations.
  • Works with Technology Director on any Network Designs and Implementations.
  • Install, Configure, and Maintain Server (on premise and cloud-based systems) equipment and under the direction of the Technology Director in line with District goals and current technologies.
  • Maintains documentation of network changes.
  • Assists Technology Director in creating and configuring accounts for Computer and Email access.
  • Respond to and complete help requests submitted to our district's technology help desk.
  • Order and purchase all hardware/software needs for the district as per the district's purchasing guidelines.
  • Maintain Door, Intercom, and Video Accesses System.
  • Maintain, install, upgrade and support District Purchased software.
  • Must be able to communicate accurately and effectively.
  • Responsible for maintaining and supporting district wide hardware including, computers, printers, phones, fax machines, servers, copiers, scanners, projectors, networking equipment.
  • Maintain documentation of completed technology help desk requests and purchases.
  • Attend District paid trainings and product conferences to stay updated on current technology.
  • Be a resource for making recommendations to CISD for hardware and software in line with district goals.
  • Provide technical assistance to help with the implementation of existing and future media technologies in the district.
  • Engage in self-development and self-motivated.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators.
  • Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations.
  • Enforce district policies regarding technology related issues (software piracy, internet policies, etc..)
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior.
  • Assist in the implementation of standard inventory and repair procedures for technology resources.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree related to Technology - OR - 10 years technology related experience
  • Knowledge of network connectivity, protocols, network security devices, network types, including wireless, Fiber optic or Copper, and knowledge of network management.
  • Knowledge of Cisco equipment, configuration, and management.
  • CCNA and/or MCSA certifications preferred
