About The Position

As a Technology Consultant you will provide technical expertise in pre-sales activities for variable frequency drives solutions in low and medium voltage applications within a defined region to help grow the Intelligent Device Business. You support our sellers in conversations with customers about our solutions. You have deep application, industry, product, technology or solution knowledge of automation control systems. You will report to the Technology Consultant Manager and will work in a hybrid capacity within the region (Minnesota / Iowa).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • The ability to travel locally 50% of the time to customers

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Power control technology experience (Low Voltage and Medium Voltage variable frequency drives and motor control centers)
  • Prior experience in technical sales, industrial distribution, manufacturing operations, systems integration, or an engineering firm
  • Experience working with all levels of an industrial automation plant (customer) including VPs, plant engineers and OEM machine builders.
  • Prior experience selling at the senior management and executive levels and convey Rockwell Automation's products & services in a manner which demonstrate tangible economic value.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team in promoting the product range to existing and new customers; update customers on new products and technology, as related to their industry and application.
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and similar marketing activities; offer demonstrations to customers.
  • Support market access (distributors and system integrators) in conveying the value of our products and technology; support the launch of new products to the sales teams and channel.
  • Validate and resolve product compatibility issues within architectural solutions and provide guidance to customers.
  • Use your domain expertise as resource for internal partners and to advise customers on our products, solutions and services.
  • Analyze competitive products, have knowledge of competitor's strategies, and further define competitive differentiators.
  • Understand business models, organization and go to market strategy, and leverage where appropriate.
  • Build customer relationships and provide customer-centric solutions.
  • Plan and prioritize your work to meet commitments aligned with our goals.
  • Seek out opportunities to develop technical skills.
