About The Position

Tems of Employment: 194 or 196 days, depending on experience within WCSD Position Criteria: Valid Iowa Teaching License required One of the following endorsements: 5-12 Industrial Technology or Math (MS, K-8 or 5-12) or Science (MS, K-8 or 5-12) Gate to Technology Training (GTT) / Project Lead the Way (PLTW), preferred Successful experience teahcing Project Lead the Way, preferred Performance Criteria: Use of pedagogically appropriate/best practice instructional methods and a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare all students to achieve higher standards and become lifelong learners. Knowledge of the middle level learner based on current research. Preference is given to instructor with demonstrated knowledge of PBIS, CCRS, differentiating instruction, the use of data to guide instruction, standards-based reporting, Iowa Core, 21st Century Skills, use of technology in the classroom, and workshop model structure for instruction. Commitment to the team teaching concept; including interdisciplinary instruction. Contributing member of a Professional Learning Community and an understanding of key processes in a PLC. Ability to involve parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development. Experience with Lead in Me or 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens preferred. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development as described in the Iowa Professional Development Standards and support of the Iowa Teaching Standards as the foundation from which to build that ongoing growth plan.

Requirements

  • Valid Iowa Teaching License required
