This position is for a Surgical Technologist in the Birth Suites department, working on a PRN (as needed) schedule at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required

Nice To Haves

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
Associate's degree or technical degree preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures
Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies
Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery
Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients
Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures
Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery
