This position is for a Technologist in the Birth Suites department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, working on a PRN schedule. Requirements

High school diploma equivalency
Completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required

Nice To Haves

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures
Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery
