As a maintenance technician, you get to work with an integral team that plays a vital role in repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining critical production and assembly equipment for our optical lens manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Able to perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities
  • Able to sustain lengthy periods of visual concentration and good hand/eye/foot coordination
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
  • Solid dexterity, mechanical and electrical skills
  • Patience to fully see the task through
  • Honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal
  • Able to use of personal protective equipment
  • Able to sit, stand, twist and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Able to follow safety guidelines with the ability to identify and understand safety items
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime when needed
  • Able to work in a team setting or independently, as needed
  • Desire to learn
  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust and make minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Support on-site EHS and Compliance initiatives.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Clean laboratory equipment, such as equipment and instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Move equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Support set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follow safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership.
  • Participate in meetings to enhance departmental communication and efficiency.
  • Train peers.
