About The Position

The Facilities Technician performs general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems for all TGH Urgent Care Powered by Fast Track clinics, ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment for team members and patients. Tampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care have partnered together to create unique clinics for patients to receive compassionate and knowledgeable treatment. Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect/repair/replace/install electrical devices.
  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect/repair/replace/install plumbing systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect/maintain/repair/replace/install HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect/repair/replace roofs
  • Knowledge of and ability to inspect/monitor safety equipment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Verifiable experience in building trades
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Travel required throughout all clinic and worksite locations within assigned region; may be directed to perform work outside assigned region
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week; evenings, weekends and occasional holidays required as needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep all buildings in good operating condition
  • Repair and/or replace electrical devices to include light switches, ballasts, fixtures, outlets, circuit breakers, fuses, etc.
  • Repair, paint, pressure wash and/or replacement of all building needs to include doors, door hardware, windows, floor tile, ceiling tile, drywall, building exterior, etc.
  • Install flooring and other building equipment and finishes
  • Perform plumbing work such as clearing clogged lines installation and/or repair of new plumbing fixtures, repairs water leaks, etc.
  • Inspect and maintain all HVAC systems to include fans, exhausts, duct work, etc.
  • Obtain price quotes and prepare Purchase Requests for equipment or supplies
  • Routinely inspect building roofs, flashings, masonry, building interiors & exteriors, walkways, stairways, exam rooms and common areas
  • Repair and monitor safety equipment
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Director of Facilities and Leadership
