This position will assist with various Bureau projects within the Department of Environmental Protection's Fish and Wildlife program, located at the Nacote Creek Research Station. The primary focus will be on expanding shell collection at regional restaurants, advancing oyster reef restoration and enhancement activities, and developing and implementing educational/outreach opportunities, including curriculum. The role requires communication and collaboration with a diverse group of program partners, including restaurants, non-profits, academic institutions, volunteers, and local businesses, to maintain accurate records and maximize expansion opportunities. Key activities include direct shell collection, maintaining grounds and equipment, monitoring and enhancing oyster reefs, attending outreach events, delivering presentations, and assisting with Project S.H.E.L.L., which is the educational component of the program.
